Vector Optics Omega 8 lens protector
Summary
Someone I knew who owned an Omega reflex sight from Vector Optics had some trouble protecting his lens for airsoft use. I made him this model to use. It'll easily clip onto the optic itself and requires a 4MM thick PolyCarbonate sheet insert.
The files I've provided include a shape that can be traced for cutting a P-C sheet into shape for use.
I hope these files will be of use to someone. :)
Print Settings
- Printer brand:
Prusa
- Printer:
i3 MK4
- Rafts:No
- Supports:Yes
- Resolution:as high as you can go
- Infill:preferred 100% for strenth
- Notes:
Try using a fillament that you know will stand up to airsoft bb impacts. Perhaps a softer and less brittle material is best.
Post-Printing
After printing all you need to do is make sure you own a sheet of clear polycarbonate at 4mm thickness. Use the lens shape that's in the provided files as example for the lens you need to cut out of the polycarbonate sheet. After cutting the shape out all you have to do is simply insert it into the slot before snapping the entire lens protection unit onto the optic. First slide the three arms over the top of the sight and then snap the bottom lip over the bottom front. To take it off slightly bend out the three arms and simply lift it off.
How I Designed This
