I wanted to mount my iPhone X to the side of my Yamaha DTXPro drum module for launching songs to play along to, and control the Rec&Share App to keep it all compact and have all control part of the same unit.

Couldn't work that out with all your R&D, Yamaha?

Will also prevent you missing calls during a session!

(This module is included with Yamaha's DTX6 and DTX8 electronic drum kits)

You need to print both parts twice (or three times if you want it stronger!)

You also need to assemble the parts together into a frame with super-glue. (Keep this away from your module until fully dry or you'll get glue stains!)

Study the video and photos included for the end result - use at your own risk, so far, mine has held for a year no problem. But you WILL need some sort of rubbery lining on the inside surfaces, or the hard plastic surfaces will just slip against each other.

Print Settings

Notes:
I used the Ender 3 Pro and standard settings. Dont skimp on the infill - you want it strong, say 30% infill minimum. 50% is better. Print the flat side on the bed and you wont need supports etc - its a simple extrusion.

Ive provided individual parts - you need TWO of each. (and Ive provided both in a single .STL file, which again, you need to print twice.)

If your phone is a different dimension to the iPhone X, you could print the two longer pieces at a different length by scaling in your print software, or pad out empty space with foam padding - use your common sense and good luck!

Post-Printing

CAUTION: ADD RUBBER LINING TO PREVENT SLIPPING BEFORE PUTTING PHONE IN!

You will need to print TWO of each model as per my photo/video.

The two smaller pieces clamp cleanly around the left side of the Yamaha DTXPro drum module without conflicting with the knobs.

The 2 longer pieces need to be super-glued to the 2 shorter pieces to complete the frame you see in my photo & video clip.

Once assembled, and the glue dry, you will find it slips/slides, due to hard plastic on hard plastic surfaces.

DON'T leave your phone in the mount in this state or it might slide out and break!

To stop it slipping, you need to line the inside surfaces where the module and this mount touch with something rubbery to aid grip (like those little rubber feet that stop slipping under desktop items)

What I did was cut a few short lengths from a rubber band and glued those inside the printed frame parts. This stopped the mount from slipping when attached. Also a couple of bits of rubber under the long arms - see in the video I supplied.
