Summary

A cookie cutter based off of my school's mascot.

Note: This is basically a copy of Missouri S&T's official, trademarked logo, so it should only be used according to their guidelines. The guidelines are found here: https://brand.mst.edu/identity/ (and they are also copied in a section below).

Cookie cutting:
I dusted the 3D print with flour each time before pressing it into the dough. You can then push lightly on the dough through the holes in the back of the print and the cookie should fall out. The flour helps with removing the cookies.

Printing and versions:
The 3D print shown in the photos is "V1." One of the corners got stuck during testing, so I rounded it off for "V2" but haven't tested that one yet. For the cookie size shown in the photos, scale the 3D model to 80%X 80%Y and 100%Z.

Printed on Creality Ender 3. 15% infill, 0.3mm layer height.PLA. Rescaled: 80%X 80%Y 100%Z.
(If you are using this on food, I would not recommend any stringy material or any resin. Also, wash immediately after use.).

How I Designed This

I used the official logo for Joe Miner from the school's page, found here: https://brand.mst.edu/logos/miner-athletics-logos/

I imported the svg of the logo into Autodesk Fusion 360 and built the cookie cutter around it.

After testing it out, I rounded off some corners to hopefully improve performance.

S&T's Logo Use Guidelines

The relevant guidelines from https://brand.mst.edu/identity/ have been copied below for convenience:

"Joe Miner is to be used to promote intercollegiate athletics and Missouri S&T’s sports programs in general. Recognized student organizations, student design teams and the Miner Alumni Association also use the Joe Miner image. The image is also used with some student recruitment materials. The image provides entertainment value, as well as high visibility in the community, and fosters a sense of pride among alumni, students and other audiences.

Academic and administrative units should not use Joe Miner in their graphic identities because of the image’s close association with Missouri S&T sports, student activities, alumni activities and student recruitment activities.

The mascot is never to be reproduced, modified or used in such a way as to compromise Missouri S&T’s reputation and educational standards. Such use could result in formal or legal action against the offending individual(s) by Missouri S&T."
