Summary

Like the idea of the LockSleeve BCAR, but wish it was a SCAR instead? Well, here you go.

Features:

Drawbacks:

Uses more plastic than most SCARs - it's styled after my BCARs and those have to be big to hold bearings.
Kind of a bitch to string. But so are most SCARs

Stringing:
There are six pairs of holes in the body of the SCAR, and six in the head. You can try to snake one string through all the holes, but I just did one pair at a time and tied off six different strings.
Start by lining up the cutouts that bridge pairs of holes in the SCAR body and the head. Then, the string into one of the body holes. Then, using the stick, push the string out the top of the SCAR. guide it through one of the inside holes in the head. Then, stick the string back through the paired hole in the outside of the head. Push the string down the SCAR barrel far enough that you can see it reaching approximately the bottom of the vents. Then, using the stick or some other thin object, push the string through the vent opposite the hole you need to put it through. This will let you grab the string and poke it directly into the inner SCAR body hole it needs to come out of. Then, pull the two ends of the string taught and tie them ~4 times. The cutout should give the knot enough space to live inside. Then just do that 5 more times. Yaaaaaaay.

Attaching it to the blaster:
Much like the LockSleeve BCAR, attaching it to the blaster begins with sliding the sleeve into place over the SCAR body. Line the nubs inside the sleeve up with the vertical cutouts in the sleeve tracks (or just slide the sleeve over the body and rotate it until it slide up flush with the head). Then, with the sleeve in the "unlocked" position (the vents in the sleeve won't be lined up with the ones in the SCAR body), put the SCAR on the barrel. Then, hold the hexagonal section on the bottom of the SCAR with the wrench, and twist the sleeve until it stops rotating and the vents align. Depending on your print tolerances, you may find that you're unable to twist it that far. In that case, take the SCAR off the barrel, lock the sleeve so the barrel-gripping fingers extend into the inside, and file away some of the high points of the fingers. Do this a little at a time until you're able to get the sleeve to lock with some effort while it's on the blaster.
